McAllister reeds are very popular with top solo pipers. The famous McAllister reed is made by Jamie Troy in Canada. Jamie spent considerable time working at McAllister's Shop in Scotland. When they decided to close, Jamie purchased all their reedmaking tools and moved the shop to Canada. McAllister reeds tend to start off hard, but if properly blown in and cared for, these reeds will last a long time.
