Hire a Piper for your Wedding

The details really make or break your special day. One special addition to weddings that is becoming quite popular these days is the addition of Bagpipes to the ceremony. I can't think of a single thing that could make your day more memorable for you and your guests than to be ushered down the aisle to the skirl of the pipes.

This begs the question: How many pipers? We have arranged for weddings with just a single piper (quite adequate for most weddings) all the way up to an entire band.

What does this enatail? Well, it's your day, so within reason, we can provide whatever musical accompaniment (or outright musical domination) you desire. Sometimes a couple want a piper outside of the church for 15 or 20 minutes before the ceremony, not only to welcome the guests, but to set the mood for the joyous celebration of marriage. Some couples want the piper in the ceremony, either to add a dramatic entrance for the bride, play a hymn during communion or even "Ave Maria". The most requested role for the piper, however, is to add joyous music as the newly wedded couple walk down the aisle and form the receiving line, as well as about 20 minutes outside of the church as people congregate to see them off.
Sometimes the couple wants the piper to go to the reception as well and provide a dramatic entrance to the Bride and Groom.

The most important thing to remember here is that it's your wedding day, and within reason, we are glad to accommodate any request.

And for the answer to the question that nobody likes to ask: The Fee is based on the time and energy involved. Most musicians at weddings (Organist, Violinist, etc.) have a set fee of $225-$300 for their addition to your day. A piper is similar in scale. Keep in mind that there is much more energy expended by a piper, and that an average wedding runs about $250. If you want the piper to play at the rehearsal, or the reception, there is an additional fee. If you tell us exactly what you're thinking of, we'll be glad to quote a rate.
